Description

This covered soup tureen made of Limoges porcelain was produced by the Théodore Haviland factory around 1920. Its decoration, entirely achieved through molding without polychromy, perfectly illustrates the aesthetics of Art Deco, favoring relief effects and clean lines.

The ivory porcelain is adorned with a delicate relief pattern reminiscent of caning or wickerwork, elegantly covering both the body and the lid. The openwork handles, the arched finial on the lid, and the low-slung silhouette resting on a small pedestal enhance its sober and refined character.

Designed for serving soups, this tureen also makes a beautiful decorative piece in a Limoges porcelain collection or an Art Deco-inspired interior.
