Oval tureen – Martin Charles

This covered soup tureen, made of Limoges porcelain, was produced by the Martin Charles factory, probably in the 1920s-1930s, as evidenced by its triangular stamp.

Its low, elegant shape is enhanced by a delicate decoration of small rose garlands, punctuated by a pink geometric frieze and fine gold highlights. The openwork handles and the lid's finial, with their sinuous lines and gilded accents, add a touch of Louis XV-inspired refinement, much appreciated in the early 20th century.
