Celadon Green Glazed Ceramic Teapot – Europe, c. 1950–1970

Antique teapot made of enamelled refractory ceramic, in a delicate celadon green tone, nuanced with seafoam green. This piece with a modernist Scandinavian-inspired design was discovered in France, in the Vosges mountains.

The teapot features a sober and balanced shape, with lines that are both functional and elegant. Its slightly curved body is extended by an angular spout and a handle with straight lines. The perfectly fitted lid is topped with a small cylindrical knob.

The whole is covered with a glossy celadon green glaze, delicately nuanced, which highlights the simplicity of the form and the quality of the material.

Its refractory ceramic design gives it a particularly functional purpose, especially for preparing and keeping drinks warm. The base shows a small green mark, now very worn, which does not allow for certain identification of the manufacturer. No attribution is therefore proposed.
