Set of Six Rimmed Soup Plates – Manufacture Haviland – Valençay – 21st Century

Set of six rimmed soup plates in Limoges porcelain, Valençay pattern, made by the Haviland porcelain manufacture.

The plates feature a classic and elegant shape in white porcelain with a glossy glaze. The rim is adorned with a wide 24-karat matte gold decoration composed of a stylized botanical frieze, its delicate design finely engraved into the gilded decoration. The decoration is characterized by an engraved matte gold frieze, creating a highly refined contrast with the glossy white porcelain.

The reverse bears the marking “Haviland Limoges 1842”, together with the inscriptions “Manufacturé à Limoges, décoré à la main, Made in France”, followed by “Collection Grand Siècle”, “Valençay”, and “Tradition Limoges Or 24 carats”.

These six plates come from a factory clearance. They were classified as second quality when released by the manufacture. They have been preserved in their original factory condition and may display minor characteristics or irregularities associated with their second-quality classification, while remaining unused and free from apparent defects.

Valençay is a relief decoration launched in 1993. Inspired by the Saint Gaudens inlay technique, a historic decoration dating from the late 19th century, this collection highlights a border filled with matte gold. The relief gives rhythm to the leaf motif. Refined and precise, this decoration beautifully illustrates the combination of luxury and simplicity.
