Description

Made by the Chastagner factory in Limoges, probably between 1950 and 1970, this white porcelain covered soup tureen elegantly reinterprets the forms of the Louis XV style. Its embossed decoration, inspired by the rocaille repertoire, combines shells, foliage, and undulating curves in a harmonious composition that highlights the porcelain's finesse.

The two magnificent openwork handles with graceful lines ensure a comfortable grip, while the domed lid is topped with a vegetal knob-shaped finial. The absence of painted decoration allows the sculpted work and the luminous whiteness of the porcelain to take center stage.

Elegant and timeless, this soup tureen will find its place equally well on a classic table or in a collection of Limoges porcelain.

No cracks, chips, or restorations. In very good condition.
