Coffee Set – Manufacture Robert Haviland & C. Parlon – Limoges, c. 1945–1955

A very beautiful coffee service in Limoges porcelain, bearing the Ch. Field Haviland mark and attributable to the production of Robert Haviland & C. Parlon, dating to around the mid-20th century.

The set is distinguished by the simplicity of its forms and the delicacy of its white glazed porcelain. The restrained decoration consists of fine gilt lines accentuating the rims of the pieces, as well as selected details of the handles and spouts.

The forms are soft and well balanced, with gently curved volumes and elegant handles. The lids are topped with cylindrical finials enhanced with gilding. The overall design reflects a classic and understated vocabulary, particularly elegant in its simplicity.

The service comprises a lidded coffee pot, a lidded sugar bowl, a cream jug, and eight cups with their matching saucers.

The reverses bear a red circular mark reading “CH. FIELD HAVILAND – LIMOGES”, together with the mention “LIMOGES FRANCE”. Some pieces also bear the “LABEL DE QUALITÉ” medallion. One of the pieces additionally carries a small supplementary “AT” marking.

The form of the set, its restrained decoration and its manufacture suggest a date of around 1945–1955.

A beautiful Limoges porcelain service, timeless in its pure white appearance and discreet gilding, ideal for an elegant everyday table as well as for more refined entertaining.

Good overall condition. The porcelain retains its glossy white glaze and the gilding remains well preserved. A few minor signs of use and slight variations in the gilding may be visible, consistent with the age of the set.
