Tea Set – Pastel Floral Decoration – Manufacture Feuillade Porcelaine – Limoges, c. 1980

This tea set comprises a teapot with lid, a milk jug, and four matching teacups with their saucers. It was made by Manufacture P. Feuillade, renowned for its collectible pieces, decorative designs and themed series produced during the second half of the 20th century.

In 1980, the manufacture notably produced a sought-after series of limited-edition collector plates created to commemorate the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games.

The stylized floral decoration, in a delicate palette of powder pink, pale blue, creamy yellow and green, evokes the refined aesthetic of certain Asian porcelains of the 1950s–1960s, particularly those associated with the cosmopolitan elegance of Hong Kong.

The pieces are further enhanced with hand-painted gold lines along the rims and subtle moulded relief in the porcelain. The handles of the teapot, milk jug and cups feature elegant, gently shaped contours.

The set is particularly harmonious, with the floral decoration repeated across the various pieces. The slender teapot forms the centrepiece of the set.

A beautiful ensemble of French Limoges porcelain, equally suited to an elegant tea service or to being displayed as a decorative or collectible set.
