Art Deco Coffee Set – Manufacture Union Céramique – Limoges, c. 1925–1938

Very fine Art Deco coffee service in glazed white porcelain, comprising a coffee pot, a cream jug and a large covered sugar bowl.

The set is distinguished by its polygonal form with cut corners, geometric and strongly structured lines, typical of the Art Deco vocabulary. The faceted volumes are accentuated by silver-coloured bands and stylized blue floral decoration. Rare and particularly sought after, this blue floral pattern combines stylized flowers with a graphic fan motif, in a composition emblematic of the Art Deco aesthetic.

A refined set in excellent condition, reflecting the evolution of tableware design in Limoges during the interwar period.

Founded in Limoges at the beginning of the 20th century, Union Céramique was part of the great tradition of Limoges porcelain. The manufactory produced tableware and decorative pieces, particularly during the 1920s and 1930s, a period when it fully embraced the geometric forms and stylized decoration of the Art Deco movement. Its productions are now appreciated for their elegant forms and their significance in the history of Limoges porcelain design. The manufactory ceased operations in 1938.
