Large Glazed Stoneware Bowl – France, circa 1970

Large bowl (or small salad bowl) in enameled stoneware, made in France around 1970.

The piece has a round and slightly flared shape, emphasized by a thick rim and a slight ridge forming a decorative line around the upper part. The surface is covered with a glaze in shades of brown, beige, and olive green, punctuated by numerous speckled effects and firing variations.

The fully enameled interior reveals concentric turning marks, while the underside shows the bare stoneware and the turning work. The irregular and nuanced glaze gives this piece all the richness characteristic of artisanal stoneware productions from this period.
