Four Individual Salad Bowls – Manufacture Haviland – Gold Inlay – 21st Century

Set of four individual salad bowls in Limoges porcelain, made by the Haviland manufactory.

With their understated white porcelain ground, each bowl is enhanced with rich gilt decoration created using the traditional gold inlay technique. A wide engraved band runs around the piece, composed of stylised vegetal scrolls and arabesques, framed by fine Greek-key-style geometric borders. Two additional gilt lines accentuate the rim and lower section of each bowl.

The gold inlay creates a striking contrast between matte and polished gold surfaces. The particularly rich and finely executed gilding gives the set the precious character associated with Haviland’s gold inlay decoration.

These four individual salad bowls come from a manufactory clearance. They were classified as second choice when released from the manufactory. They remain in their original condition and may present minor characteristics or irregularities related to their classification, but are otherwise new and show no apparent defects.
