Three Bread Plates – Manufacture Haviland – Gold Inlay – 21st Century
Description
Set of three Limoges porcelain bread plates, “Valençay” pattern, made by the Haviland manufactory.
These small plates feature a generous and richly gilded decoration in polished gold, composed of broad Greek-key borders and a central panel adorned with scrolling foliage and stylised vegetal motifs. The abundance of gilding gives them a luxurious, spectacular and slightly opulent appearance, particularly appealing for a table setting with a sense of grandeur.
The set features a rich and sophisticated design, typical of Haviland tableware, combining the luminous whiteness of Limoges porcelain with an elaborate use of gilding. The underside bears the mark “Haviland 1842 – Manufacture à Limoges – Décoré à la main – Made in France”.
These three plates come from a manufactory clearance. They were classified as second choice when released from the manufactory. They remain in their original manufactory condition and may present minor characteristics or irregularities related to their classification, but are otherwise new and show no apparent defects.
