Celadon Porcelain Teapot – Manufacture Haviland – Early 21st Century

Celadon porcelain teapot, solid-dyed, from the Haviland manufacture, made at the beginning of the 21st century. A piece of great subtlety, both elegant and classic, from a factory clearance. Its generous silhouette combines a rounded body, a slightly flared neck, a slender spout, and a circular handle.

The celadon, particularly delicate on this piece, reveals the volumes of the porcelain through its soft nuances and its glossy enameled surface. The lid, topped with a baluster-shaped knob, adds a more classic touch to an otherwise very streamlined shape.

Celadon porcelain holds a special place in the history of the Haviland manufacture. Documented from the early 20th century, this paste with its soft grey-green shades became one of the expressions of the manufacture's chromatic research. Unlike a simple decoration or a colored glaze, the celadon paste directly gives its hue to the porcelain material. Haviland continued to use it throughout the 20th century, up to certain contemporary productions.
