Soup Tureen – Japonisme Decor – Manufacture Haviland – Limoges, 2nd Half of the 20th Century

Elegant covered soup tureen in Limoges porcelain, made by the Haviland manufacture, decorated with a delicate Japonisme-inspired design of flowering cherry branches (sakura).

The soft pink blossoms, accompanied by fine black branches, small leaves and floral buds, stand out delicately against the luminous white porcelain. The decoration continues onto the interior base of the tureen, delicately adorned with small flowering branches. It also extends harmoniously onto the lid.

The tureen features an elegant, gently rounded form, enhanced by two handles with flowing shapes reminiscent of floral buds. The lid is topped with a stylized floral-bud finial, completing the composition with great delicacy. The foot and raised relief elements add further refinement to the piece.

This soup tureen combines an elegant silhouette with a floral decoration inspired by Japanese aesthetics, characteristic of the style of Haviland productions from the second half of the 20th century.

Condition: Good overall condition considering its age. An old repaired hairline crack is present on the foot, visible underneath the base. No other chips or restorations observed. The decoration remains fresh and glossy.
