Vintage Saucer – Manufacture Union Limousine – Limoges, c. 1950

Vintage Limoges porcelain saucer made by Manufacture Union Limousine (ULIM).

Round in shape with a slightly scalloped and delicately fluted rim, it features elegant raised moulding accentuating the outer edge. The white porcelain is covered with a glossy glaze and adorned with a delicate multicoloured floral decoration.

The design consists of a fine circular garland of small flowers, alternating pink roses and blue flowers, accompanied by green and yellow leaves. Small individual roses are scattered across the wide rim, adding a light and refined character to the piece.

The centre is left entirely white and features a subtle circular raised area designed to hold the cup.

The reverse bears the mark “Limoges ULIM France”, corresponding to Manufacture Union Limousine. The acronym ULIM was used from the 1920s–1930s on Art Deco tableware and continued to be used through the 1950s.

Sold without a cup. A lovely piece to collect alongside other vintage saucers with floral designs, creating, as discoveries are made, a charming mismatched collection for serving petits fours and other sweet treats.
