Salad Bowl with Geometric Relief – Manufacture Porcelaine Limousine – Limoges, c. 1930

A white Limoges porcelain salad bowl made by Manufacture Porcelaine Limousine, which was active from 1905 to 1939.

The piece is distinguished by its subtly modelled interior and exterior walls, whose geometric reliefs define the bowl and play with the reflections of the glossy white glaze. Two side handles with stepped reliefs extend this architectural composition. Their structured design echoes the treatment of the bowl's walls and gives the piece a distinctive decorative presence, in keeping with the tableware aesthetic of the interwar period.

Raised on a small circular foot, this piece combines formal elegance with functionality. Its luminous whiteness highlights the richness of the modelling without the need for painted decoration.

The reverse bears the mark “Limoges PL France”, attesting to its Limoges porcelain origins. Its shape and geometric vocabulary suggest an approximate date of around 1930.
