Four Bread Plates – Manufacture Haviland – Valençay – 21st Century

Set of four bread plates in Limoges porcelain, Valençay pattern, made by the Haviland porcelain manufacture.

The plates feature a classic and elegant shape in white porcelain with a glossy glaze. The rim is adorned with a wide 24-karat matte gold decoration composed of a stylized botanical frieze, its delicate design finely engraved into the gilded decoration. A fine gold line emphasizes the inner edge of the rim, providing an elegant finishing touch and creating a refined contrast with the glossy white porcelain.

The decoration creates a remarkable contrast between the richness of the matte gold, the delicacy of the botanical motif, and the luminous whiteness of the porcelain.

The reverse bears the marking “Haviland Limoges 1842”, together with the inscriptions “Manufacturé à Limoges, décoré à la main, Made in France”.

These four plates come from a factory clearance. They were classified as second quality when released by the manufacture. They have been preserved in their original factory condition and may display minor characteristics or irregularities associated with their second-quality classification, while remaining unused and free from apparent defects.

About the Valençay pattern:

Valençay is a relief decoration launched in 1993. Inspired by the Saint Gaudens inlay technique, a historic decoration dating from the late 19th century, this collection highlights a border filled with matte gold. The relief gives rhythm to the leaf motif. Refined and precise, the decoration beautifully illustrates the combination of luxury and simplicity.
