Beautiful round serving dish with pierced handles in Limoges porcelain, made by Manufacture Bernardaud, Bengali model, in the second half of the 20th century.

The dish features a scrolled outline inspired by the Louis XV style, characterised by soft, elegantly undulating contours. Its two pierced side handles harmoniously extend the silhouette. The ivory porcelain, finished with a luminous glaze, is edged with a fine gilt line that delicately accentuates its contours.

The polychrome decoration, inspired by the 18th century, features floral bouquets and flowering branches in delicate shades. An exotic bird perched on a branch among the foliage brings the composition to life. The overall design evokes the European taste for chinoiserie and naturalistic depictions of exotic flora and fauna, which influenced the decorative arts and porcelain ornamentation of the 18th century. The delicacy of the decoration, combined with the refinement of the gilt edging, lends this piece a timeless elegance.

With its two pierced side handles and harmonious proportions, this dish is ideal for serving pastries, petits fours, fruit or other refreshments at receptions. It also makes an elegant decorative object.

Condition: Excellent state of preservation. No cracks, chips or restoration. A few very discreet signs of wear to the gilt edging, with no impact on the overall presentation of the piece.
