Set of Three Antique Saucers – Société Porcelainière Limousine – Limoges, c. 1945–1950

Set of three antique Limoges porcelain saucers made by Société Porcelainière Limousine, featuring a delicate polychrome floral decoration on a white porcelain ground.

Round in shape with a shaped and gently scalloped rim, the saucers are accented with a fine gold line. Their rims feature subtle moulded relief that elegantly follows the contours of each piece.

The delicately painted decoration consists of bouquets of pink, blue and yellow flowers, accompanied by green foliage and small branches in soft blue-grey tones. The flowers are connected by fine, winding stems, forming several light and airy compositions distributed around the rim.

The gilding along the edge follows the scalloped contour and adds a luminous touch to the pieces.

Their size makes them ideal for pairing with coffee or teacups, but they can also be used on their own to serve petits fours, small cakes, chocolates or other sweet treats.

They would also work beautifully in a mismatched table setting, combined with other antique saucers or plates featuring different floral decorations.

The mark “ANCIENNE FABRIQUE ROYALE – LIMOGES – FRANCE” on the reverse links these pieces to the Société Porcelainière Limousine. This attribution is supported by the collections of the Musée national Adrien Dubouché, which associate this mark with pieces from the Société Porcelainière Limousine dating from 1937 to 1949.

Based on the mark, shape and decoration, the set can be dated approximately to c. 1945–1950.
