Set of Three Glazed Earthenware Pieces – Badonviller Faïencerie, c. 1900–1905

Beautiful set of three earthenware pieces by the Badonviller Faïencerie, Orival pattern, comprising a covered vegetable dish and two matching serving platters.

The set features an elegant geometric decoration in cobalt blue on a white ground, characteristic of the Orival pattern: compositions of vertical and horizontal lines, broad bands of repeated arch motifs reminiscent of waves or scales, and areas punctuated with small dots. The highly graphic decoration is a fine example of the geometric aesthetic found in Badonviller production at the beginning of the 20th century.

The Orival pattern is documented on various tableware pieces, including plates, compotiers and serving dishes. Examples are generally dated to around 1900–1905, corresponding to the period associated with the manufacturer's mark found on this pattern.

The vegetable dish has a simple, rounded form with two side handles and a central finial on the lid. The two platters feature the same decoration, forming a particularly harmonious and coherent set with the covered dish.
